What your Doctor Won’t Tell you About High Blood Pressure

Possible Reasons Why you Have It:

- Mineral deficiency

- Dehydration

- High glucose levels (Eating a daily dose of organic cinnamon will help this.)

    - Emotional stress
    - Poor diet

Natural Solutions:

  • Eat plenty of low glycemic, whole grain, preservative-free, high fiber unprocessed foods.
  • (Eliminate white flours/sugars and processed foods from your diet.)
  • Drink lots of chemical-free, (and alkalized, if you can), high quality water. (The rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in fluid ounces.)
  • Start drinking coconut water (it has more potassium than bananas and low potassium can lead to high blood pressure).
  • Eating lots of fresh, organic greens. (If you’re struggling with this, try the Healthmaster that’s endorsed by Montel Williams)
  • Do some sort of stress reducing daily activity like meditation, yoga, biofeedback, breathing, resting or cardiovascular exercise. (If you have Comcast On Demand cable T.V., there are free yoga and fitness classes under the “fitness” section!)
  • Marjoram essential oil by Be Young Essential Oils (Order with your own wholesale account at www.naturalplantmedicine.com. Use I.d. # 1368 when prompted.)
  • Start on a Smart Heart by Be Young Essential Oils (available in the “smart nutritionals” section). (Be Young also has a blood glucose supplement.)
  • Avoid high blood pressure medication. (And avoid mainstream medical doctors too, if you can. They always warn that you’re going to have a heart attack or a stroke to scare you into taking prescription meds., because their lack of understanding about nutrition and natural health is so awful! This is ridiculous. The high blood pressure medication will start causing other problems you don’t want!)

If you’re worried about your high blood pressure now, see a naturopath or an acupuncturist right away, (not an m.d. who’ll only make it worse in the long run).

  22. Love Letter: Write someone a love letter in chalk on the steps up to their apartment or the pavement outside. Use several colors. Hide and watch their reaction when they see it.
  23. Celebrate Random Holidays: You can think of lots of ideas for random or made-up holidays. (You can even google “strange holidays’ and get a complete list.) Celebrate the birthdays of your favorite writers, musicians and artists. How to Gadge the Effectiveness of your Fitness Routine

Exercise Tip of the Day:
Getting in any amount of movement or resistance training in a day is better than none.
However, if you’re really shooting for optimal fitness most days of the week, here’s a good rule of thumb to rate your exercise intensity
. . .   On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being running as fast as you can, and 1 being sitting on the couch, you want to aim for about a 6 or 7. At that intensity, you should be breathing harder than normal but still able to carry on a simple conversation.

The cardiovascular system is made up of the heart and blood vessels. Its function is to circulate blood throughout the body and bring oxygen and nutrients to muscles and organs.

Benefits of Cardiovascular Exercise:

  • Stronger heart/cardiovascular system
  • Increased energy and strength
  • Increased happiness
  • Increased metabolism
  • Clearer skin
  • Stronger immune system
  • Easier ideal weight maintenance and management
  • Reduced risk for heart and cardiovascular disease
  • Better brain function, focus and creativity
  • Improved sleep
  • Reduced stress
  • Extended youth and vitality
  • Reduced risk for Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Save money on healthcare (and products and services used to reduce stress)

Most people are born with a healthy, strong cardiovascular system. But many lifestyle choices can damage the heart muscle. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that half a million Americans die each year from heart disease. Staving off any kind of heart damage is as simple as eating correctly and walking half an hour a day.  Eating healthy, preservative-free, whole foods and vegetables reduce the risk of developing heart disease.

Natural Health Victory with Blood Clots!

We are so excited to share yet another Protandim success story! . . .

We knew that Protandim was great for circulation.  (See Protandim® Found to Prevent a Process that Causes Blood Vessel Blockage in New Peer-Reviewed Study From The Ohio State University at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21167278.)  And we know that the turmeric in Protandim, a natural blood thinner, is 18 times more powerful in the Protandim formulation than it is normally, so this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise . . .

A friend of ours who’d been having some circulation problems in his legs recently mentioned that he was concerned about a new blood clot which his doctor had noticed.  (It was Friday, April 1, 2011 when we heard about his blood clot scare.)  We were skeptical that such a small amount of Protandim would do his situation much good, (since the Protandim hadn’t had the recommended two weeks of time to get established in his system yet), but thinking that “you never know” and that it couldn’t hurt, we gave him two Protandim to take at home for the blood clot.

Today, (Monday, April 4th, 2011), with a relieved look and much gratitude, our friend reported that he took the two Protandim later Friday afternoon and that his blood clot was gone after taking them!

To learn more about Protandim, see our previous post “Better Health, Better Aging, Better Vitamins and Serious Disease at http://www.feelgoodbuzz.com/better-health-better-aging-better-vitamins-and-serious-disease.html.)

Warning About Detox Diets

According to nutritionist Katherine Zeratsky of Mayoclinic.com, detoxification refers to cleansing your body of toxins from chemicals found in our water and food. We live in a world of processed foods where our bodies are continuously subjected to artificial substances that it was not designed to process. Detox diets claim to elminate these elements in a short period by increasing water and fiber intake.

Why People do it:

Proponents of detoxification say that the process can do a number of things, from promoting clearer skin, to promoting regularity and bowel function to encouraging weight loss.

The Risks:

Results are often only temporary and can come with dangerous side effects . . .

1. With decreased calorie intake, participants can experience dizziness, weakness and headaches.

2. Most detox diets don’t emphasize healthy protein consumption, vitamin and mineral intake or eating a nutritionally rich and balanced diet during the process.

3. Increased fiber intake at such a rapid pace can cause bloating and diarrhea.

4. One of the most risky and popular detox diets is The Lemonade Diet. It consists of water, lemon, cayenne pepper and molasses, which gives the body very little fuel to run on.

At Feel Good Buzz, the word “diet” is not part of our vocabulary or our philosophy. We’ve found that dieting just isn’t fun (or generally even effective), so we just don’t do it (and don’t want to do it). What we encourage instead is eating clean/chemical-free, whole, healthy, nourishing and satisfying food every day while adding a few gentle, all natural supplements for additional support. (For example, our daily essential oil liver cleanse, using “the liver cleanse pack” available at naturalplantmedicine.com is designed to be used three weeks on and one week off on an ongoing, long term basis.  Also, Protandim, another supplement designed for long term use, available at www.cudiscovery.com, is a gentle and excellent overall detox in addition to the other incredible benefits it provides.) In our experience, adopting a natural foods lifestyle eliminates the need for short term detox diets.  When you feed your body right, you lose weight naturally (and a lot of other health concerns disappear as well!).
